Pre-Selection Considerations
When choosing paper specifications, in addition to paying attention to the paper size, it's also crucial to select an appropriate basis weight. Generally, while meeting printing and usage requirements, a lower basis weight should be chosen whenever possible to reduce publication costs.
Post-Selection Considerations
After selecting the type and specifications of paper, the quality grade must be carefully chosen. This means familiarizing yourself with the characteristics and quality of various products from different paper mills and staying informed about any changes.
After determining the type, specifications, manufacturer, and quality grade of paper, it's best to use paper produced by the same manufacturer at the same time for printing the same book. Otherwise, because the color of the same type of paper produced by different manufacturers at different times often varies significantly, it can cause a "sandwich" effect in the printed books.
